Newly diagnosed

I'm Sara (20 years old) and I was diagnosed with UC a few days ago. I am a marathon runner and recently started training for my next race a few weeks ago. Since having symptoms I've been really struggling on my runs. I get burned out quickly and have a constant fear of having to go to the bathroom. It's very frustrating. I feel as though I will never be able to get back in shape like I use to and I won't be able to compete in the marathon in September. I've already had to miss almost a week of running. Any advice?

Don't do tooo much work, although exercise is good. Stay on your meds! Also welcome to the forum!
You might do a search, there was another lady running marathons and she had a topic about it. But I can't remember all the advice. But make sure to eat enough =)

Is it Rowasa? I'd ask about trying Asacol too then, I think together they'd be more effective. What kind of UC do you have (proctitis, etc)? If you know.
