Who has used this probiotic? Did it help?

Has anyone switched from another one to this one and seen an improvement?

I am specifically wondering about switching from VSL to this product.

I've taken it for about 2 years.....I also take the Fortify from Primadophilus.
I switch brands on occasion, but these seem to be a good count, although fairly expensive...$1 a capsule.

I sometimes double them, I've added the Reuteri and as I mentioned, take the Fortify as well.

I have used the Critical Care Probiotic for a while now and I definately notice an improvement.  I also alternate it with the Bio-KPlus, both work extremely well for me.  I take it 2x a day morning and evening and when in a flare up to 4x a day.

When you compare how many bacteria you get for the price, UFCC is about the same as VSL. So, if your plan is to take fewer, then UFCC is a great option but if you plan to take the same number, then you won't save money. I still think UFCC is a really good probiotic, though. And it's easier to get than VSL.

Krissy...I don't see what the worry is exactly. It's worth trying another probiotic.

I personally think that rhamnosus is one that should be in the mix...it's not in the VSL.

just half the dosage of the vsl......for maybe a week, then lower it to a quarter. Maybe, just maybe....you're getting too much?

Well, you could be wrong. It's only one school of thought.
I'm making suggestions...not writing another commandment..lol.

I have used both. I think that as probiotics go, the UFCC is a good one. I have also used MegaFlora Plus and liked it, and I have heard good things about Bio-Kult, but never used it.

That said, I think I prefer the VSL. It definitely makes me more gassy, which is annoying, and it actually can increase the number of BMs I have per day, but we are talking 3 instead of 2 and I weigh that against the fact that I believe it helps with inflammation because while I go more, it tends to be fatter, which I see as a good thing, and easier to pass.

However, during a flare, I didn't feel that way about it-and I was taking 3-4 packets a day of it when things got really bad. It didn't help and I couldn't take the extra gas and trips to the bathroom. During that time, I switched to the UFCC full time and while I still don't think it did anything to get me out of the flare, it didn't cause me any additional headaches like the VSL did.

It is definitely worth a try-it is a good one. And if I didn't have a prescription for the VSL3 DS, I would use the UFCC instead.

Yes, Krissy, I did switch cold turkey. I don't think it made any difference!! By that point, nothing seemed to make any impact, really.
