this flare cant make up its mind- from complete D to completely formed

This little flare has been up and down..one day blood, one day no blood, one day pain, one day no pain.

this weekend was one day 8BMS ( havent had this many in about a year) and the next day 2bm- one of which was complete liquid D and then other was formed..????????

What is this all about? Anyone else have these alternating symptoms?

Maybe? I had some days with 4-5 bms with blood and mucous, a couple days formed with mucous but no blood, and now today just mucous and no blood. I don't even know lol

not normally....my uc is limited, however.

IBS is classic for alternating stool consistency and frequency, especially related to food intake, but the bleeding is another issue, which is more than likely UC-related, or hemmies or fissure or other....but for you it's probably UC.

I would think that it's time for you to have another scope....
or at the very least...a barium...ugh...enema x-ray.

     My condition for the last year has been basically...good day, bad day.  For the last 2 1/2 weeks though... mostly good days....thanks to prednisone of course.    I flare as soon as I get down to 7.5 mgm.

Yes, when I was flaring I would have good days and bad days. Sometimes when I had a bad day I would think "Okay, then tomorrow should be a good day, I'll plan to go out and do a few things". Vice versa when I had a good day, I'd figure the next one would likely be bad. My good days could sometimes be sooo good that I almost felt normal.

That's why it took me a while to realize I was going into remission... all of a sudden it dawned on me that I'd had several "good days" in a row.

Just a thought but I wonder if your ups and downs can correlate with your diet. Perhaps this could be a way to determine which foods are personally 'illegal' for you. Of course your symptoms could be appearing without rhyme or reason and not correlated with specific foods. Hopefully as Serenity Now said you could be going to remission.

I do believe that some of the symptoms, sans bleeding, could be food related.

I am no longer bleeding..no blood for a few days now , fingers crossed..
that watery D came after eatting some lettuce from my mother in laws garden..it gives her D so I shoulda known...it was so good though...that really wasnt a BAD day per se though..I had that D and that was it for the rest of the day..total two BMS that day..yest had 3...much better than the 5 or 6 I was having last week...again fingers crossed..
I will be trying to get a scope in the fall...

I have the exact same symptoms. Sometimes I have well formed poop, and just as I am feeling good about it, right at the end of the BM there would be a few drops of blood. My guess is that on that day, the walls of rectum are tender and the solid stool rubbing against it is causing it to bleed just a bit. So you are darned if the stool is loose, and darned if it is well formed.... mad

I question what VSL3 is doing for you. I'm on Mutaflor, taking the max dosage at a cost of $70 a month. With VSL3 you are taking a minimum dosage if you are taking one packet. That's why I stopped VSL 3. I could only afford to take one packet a day.

Yes you are right..I am taking the minimum..I think 4-8 packets would be TOO MUCH though..I did two 2 packets a day for a bit..with no obvious improvement...everyone is different I guess...I have read about mutaflor but am a little hesistant until I hear more pples experiences..for now Im just gonna try another probiotic with some different strains..
I have it written down when I Started taking VSL it did not help with frequency at all. I cant really put my finger on what it has helped with in the past..maybe it hasnt helped ? who knowws...
