I was wondering if anyone knows of/has a good low salt cooking website or a good low salt cooking cookbook? At this point I can't tolerate very much sodium at all and need to do some serious home cooking. Last night I made very low sodium spaghetti sauce and was pretty happy with that. Any ideas, advice, input, recipes are appreciated! :o)

I usually go to my local library to look/see cookbooks for specialty recipes then browse until I find a recipe I like. Usually there are only a couple and not worth buying the book.
If I do find a cookbook that has a lot of recipes I like I then head to Amazon and see if there's a used one. I've gotten some amazing buys there on cookbooks, art books, garden books. Books that may cost under a dollar then add the $4 shipping.
Goodwill has also started a used book store, maybe there's one in your area?
As far as actual recipes I've been reducing my salt intake also, little by little so it's not such a big change. To replace that taste I've found adding other flavors like turmeric, curry, hot oil, herbs like cilantro (some people hate it) and basil bring a lot of flavor and hide the missing salt. (Remember soy has a lot of salt)
Long story short I don't have any actual recipes, just omit the salt and increase the other flavorings.

I generally watch salt because it irritates my colon, but that doesn't alter my cooking. I cook what agrees and flavor it with light amounts of herbs and/or veggies. Bay leaf, carrot, celery, fennel, garlic, lemon or lime juice, onion, parsley, shallots definitely add flavor, and you'll likely notice more taste to the original ingredients as you get away from heavy salt. Contrasting textures make foods more palatable, too-- such as light crumbs sprinkled on casseroles or broiled fish. Dill is another herb I like very much, but it can give me heartburn so I use it sparingly. Nutmeg & cinnamon can do great things for yams, acorn & butternut squashes. / Old Hat (30 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)
