I've been thinking about why I quit taking Vitamin C a few years ago and it was probably due to D (diarrhea). But quite honestly at that time almost everything was causing that so I quit most everything. In a normal UC state (not high flare) my colon is very sensitive to even good things like bioflavonoids, so I don't drink chamomile tea, take Vit. C, can't eat citrus, etc.
I think it's just too much stimulation or acid.
Here's what I tried and quit:
-Elite-Zyme Pro-a digestive aid by Thropp's Nutrition-caused stomach turmoil
-Magnesium-not stomach problems but caused muscle ache (should do the opposite so that's weird but true)
-grapefruit seed extract-I read up on how it's processed and decided to drop it for now-no stomach issues though-just precaution
Currently take:
D3
liquid fish oil daily-1 spoonful
4 oz. veggie juice (carrots, greens, cabbage, squash, whatever's here)
spinach-daily with breakfast omelet
sunflower seeds-daily as snack
1-2 cups green tea
4 oz. coffee
VSL#2 or SCD homemade yogurt
Citrucel 4 tabs total daily (2 in AM-2 PM)
Going to try:
turmeric pills (already use it in cooking)
boswellia
l-glutamine powder
