Bowel Prep and asacol

Hey Guys,

I have a colonoscopy to look forward to tomorrow my first full one since my diagnosis 2 years ago. Currently taking picolax bowel prep today in preperation for the procedure tomorrow. And i was wondering should i continue to take my Asacol today and tomorrow or will it have no effect becasue it will just be flushed right out?

I was also wondering if i was to take a dose tomorrow morning might it sit in my bowel when i have the procedure tomorrow since i will have no solid food from lunch time today onwards??

Usually you do not take anything the day of the procedure. But I have done both in the past where I took my meds the day of the prep or I didn't. Usually they tell you to take your meds but I found it doesn't matter to be honest. Maybe because I was too busy running to the bathroom to notice????? lol

I don't take my nightly asacol before the scope. I do take the next morning ones when I'm out for breakfast after the scope.When I had my last scope....there was one lonely pill in there, breaking open...lol..weird because I took it the morning of the clean-out., Never saw that before but interesting, nonetheless.Let us know how the scope goes.q
