Anyone try holistic meds? Any success?

Coincidentally, my old neighbor from my home town is a Colon Hydrotherapist and Holistic Health Consultant. She works at a holistic cleansing center in NC. I got back in touch with her via facebook after about 10 years. I told her what was going on and she said she may be able to help me. She deals specifically with the colon and has had good results with UC sufferers. Right now I'm willing to try anything. She immediately suggested supplements that I'm sure most of you are familiar with, probiotics (which she put great emphasis on, B-12, Omega-3 and a couple I haven't heard of like Grapefruit Seed Oil and Bromelain (Papaya enzymes). She told me she was going to show me how to make herbal infusions, medicinal vinegars, and tinctures. She even went as far as to find a store in my area (I live in AZ) that sells the herbs I need. I told her I was concerned about much everything would cost because money is extremely tight and I didn't know if I'd be able to drive to the stores location because I had been feeling so crummy the last week. She went ahead and ordered everything and had it shipped to my house. Now I know shes legitimately trying to help and not trying to make a buck. I should be getting everything tomorrow so I can get started. Wish me luck and I'll keep everyone posted.

B-12 injections do nothing for me. However the Vitamin D3 injections one weekly seem to be the answer. I stopped the 50,000 herbs I was taking, I drink a gallon of milk each week, I try to eat only whole foods and I take what I thought was psyllium but is 'daily fibre' so it has some apple pectin in there too. Intestamine was horrible ( FOS ) and I stopped it immediately. I also drink a jug of pure aloe juice from walgreens every three days.

Everything you mention has been talked about in previous threads. Some things work for some people, others don't. You will have to find out for yourself.

BUT...be careful. You mention gastritis on your other thread. And you're not sure whether it's from meds or not.
Very important to keep a notebook daily of what you eat, meds and how your gut and colon acts.
When trying anything new, drugs or supplements, do it ONE AT A TIME.
Otherwise you won't know what the good guy/bad guy is and get confused.

I agree with quincy about rectal meds if you are bleeding, they are of the few Rx that actually helped me.
Diet modification did more for me than any supplements or meds.
