I find peanut butter and other nut butters (almond, sunflower seed) to be really good things to eat when I'm flaring. And on banana - yum, sounds good!
I think the reason nuts aren't recommended is because anything "scratchy" - raw veggies, corn, and so on - can cause much discomfort when flaring.
I would think good nutrition, as best you can do, would boost the energy. I don't know any particular smoothies. I sometimes make them with a little yogurt, a banana, a splash of vanilla, and a spoon of honey (and ice.)
