I think my weight gain is here to stay. It's so stubborn, either the pred or Zyprexa is causing it and I'm on both indefinitely, well pred til november.
So here's the thing. Should I get rid of my size 2 clothes (I'll have nothing left) or should I keep them in case I have a flare.
Seems to me it's a catch 22. In denial to keep them hoping I'll lose weight. In denial I'll never flare again if I get rid of them.
Just my observation.

I was a size 4 while I was flaring. I've gained a lot of weight while being in remission and starting college. I could never bring myself to throw out all my size 4 clothes, especially since all my jeans were Silver Jeans :( This summer I FINALLY gave them away. Broke my heart to do it but even if I did flare I doubt I'd ever be that small again.

I have been flaring for a little while now and thankfully got my remicade today. The nurse asked if I was the same weight. Usually my answer would be yes, but things are definitely not fiiting as well and for 2 weeks I have trying to do the SCD. Well, I had her weigh me and to my surprise had lost 12.5 lbs. I think also contributing to that is I have not lifted in over a month. It is crazy how our systems work!

I'd sort through them and keep one box of basics. Keep the nicer things and things that aren't trendy.

I am keeping mine. I think you have to be completely off prednisone to lose the weight. I am starting to see some improvement now that i am under 10mg. If I flare up, I am not taking any more pred. Ill just be sick until I find another solution. I'd rahter be on the toilet than fat at this point.

Also keep some outfits in various sizes...not a lot but just in case. I weight 98 pounds right now am barely fitting the clothing I have now.
I hit up some thrift store to get some more options and I have a friend who tailors clothing. Before I was sick my weight was 110-115 so I have always been a 2 or 4. I have being so skinny...I totally lost my but and my legs are little chickens legs :(
I just got out of the hospital in July so (I was 89 when admited) So I am making progress. Any Ideas for weight gainers SCD version???

I used to get all my clothes tailored right to my body. So there's no room for expansion.
After reading this, I have basically decided to make the best of the body I have with exercise. I'm really about
a stubborn 6 pounds over weight (131) (it's a whole size for me). I'm looking into getting some Spanks and adding some wardrobe pieces. I also have to consider that I'm 51 and skinny doesn't look too good on someone my age.

steroid weight is a little different because its so hard to lose, but when trying to lose weight, you should NEVER buy bigger clothes, reason being, if you buy bigger clothes you are accepting the weight gain and you wont fight it as hard.

You can't gain weight while you're flaring because you're food is going right through you. When you're all healed up, the pounds pile on. That's my experience.

I have size 4 all the way to 12. I keep every one of them because I never know which way my weight is going to go. When I hit remission, I gained 25lbs rapidly and it scared me so I had my thyroid checked but it was normal! lol I managed to lose 10lbs of what I gained and right now I look healthy even though I am still flaring slightly.
