My digestive system has been squealing at me. Any idea what causes this and if there's something I could take to quite it down? Doesn't feel like gas..but it is distracting!
Thinking of giving the squeaky moster a name...any suggestions?

IBS??? lol.
It's the quicker activity of an inflamed colon...everything moves faster because the rectum is a control freak. It's good you're not having cramping, etc.
I use bentylol (dicyclomine)...it helps with the squealies.

Although I do not have the UC diagnosis, I struggle with IBS symptoms a lot and have gained some useful knowledge browsing your forum.
My gut can be rather noisy too but now it seems so quiet and I attribute this change to taking daily probiotics. I had been taking 5 Billion but in hindsight realized that amount was far too low. It was a drop in the bucket.
I take 80 billion per day, sometimes when my gut is out of whack, I take 2, space about
12 hours apart. This probiotic amount/brand (see my bio), seems to really agree with my touchy GI tract.

As for a name for the squeaky monster...how about
the 'growel in the bowel' or the 'bionic rumble in the colonic jungle'....maybe any reference to the black smoke monster should be kept for Lost

cute..lol. I really needed that! ;)
I was joking with my husband about
how they haven't invented the bionic colon yet....if they did we may need a bionic toilet to go with it...lol!
