Hi,
I was diagnosed with severe UC 10 years ago, but Asacol worked like a miracle drug and I recovered quickly with very few problems. After 2 years I came off the meds and didn't have any more problems.
In 2007 I was scoped and there was no sign of any ulcers - my GI Doc was amazed at how well I recovered and stayed well.
In 2008 I became very ill with muscle pain (mainly pelvic and legs) as well as severe fatigue to the point where I could not work anymore. My bowels have never been the same since the UC diagnosis, but there was no evidence of a flare (blood). I have seen 10 specialist about my muscle/joint pain and fatigue and no one has any idea. The Rhuematologyst could not help me and a GI doc said he didn't think it was bowel related.
I had a scope last week and behold my colitis is still there, just very high up and that is why I am not seeing fresh blood (mild case now). Now I am reading all about muscle and joint pain and fatigue associated with UC and am thinking this is all related?!?!
Does anyone else have very mild bowel symptoms, but lots of muscle, joint and fatigue symptoms?
