I don't know if any of you noticed but I have not been online for almost 1 1/2 weeks. The reason: me, my husband and several friends took a motorcycle trip from MI to Fl. Yes, that is over 1000 miles on the back of a bike! We stopped in at Georgia to pick up another couple, spent the night there and proceeded to Fl the following day. We stayed at a beautiful condo in Panama City Beach. White sand beaches, blue/green water and beautiful skies.
And I am simply delighted to say that my Uc didn't bother me at all during this entire trip! And that is with eating out every night, having a few cocktails, high temperatures and not sleeping very well (the beds weren't very comfortable). I feel this is a major accomplishment for me considering that I have been flaring almost every one of my 18 years of having this. I hit a glorious remission 2 years ago that lasted 1 1/2 years and flared a bit after going to a high altitude state a few months ago. But I managed to get that under control so this trip was truly fun! My Sacroiilitis acted up a bit on the trip there but it was tolerable and my arthritis pain was at a minimum. Oh and I even got my first tattoo! LOL With NO issues either btw.
The downside of this trip is that we had thunderstorm after thunderstorm following us almost the entire way home. We even had to stay overnight at a hotel last Saturday because of severe thunderstorms, but the guys were tired so it was okay. Then on Sunday we found out that one of my husband's co-workers was killed in a freak accident on HIS motorcycle trip in Pennsylvania. That shook my hubby up as well as one of his friends who also worked with this poor man. Please keep this man's wife and two small girls in your thoughts and prayers please.
Basically, I just wanted this post to be inspirational. To know that even if you have not had much success in keeping your Uc in check; you can still live your life, you can still have fun, you can still squeeze the joy of being alive. Having Uc just plain sucks but keep the faith and look to the future of when you can get out there again and enjoy what life has to offer!
