Q, I was on Wellbutrin for many years, then off and put on strattera for some ADD. I would say Wellbutrin made me manic even with the Lamictal.

When UC hit, I wasn't allowed to ahve anything except lamictal because i was on prednisone. I went back on Wellbutrin and it didn't work post UC/post pred this time. I had a bad reaction to it.

I have two sisters on Lexapro, one is bipolar, the other is high anxiety. It seems to work for both of them.

I am concerned about insomnia and sexual dysfunction, but I'm going to continue with the zyprexa, ZMA and melatonin for sleeping. Maybe I can stay at 5 mg. because of the bipolar issue. And there's therapy.

Yah. Lexapro has affected my desire for sex. One of the side effects of Lexapro is a queasy sensation similar to motion sickness. I even get motion sickness from sex. Hence, my decrease desire for it.

My sleep has also been affected. Apparently, one of the side effects is not going into the dream state. When that happens, I'll sleep for ten or twelve hours and still feel tired. Usually, skipping a dose gets me dreaming again.

Ellen....ah yes, I remember now you were on Wellbutrin.

Hope the Lexapro will help and level things out....at least get you through this time.

Lowest dosage seems a good start.
