Lialda and Breastfeeding

I have ulcerative colitis.

I am 3 months pregnant with twins & noticed that my colitis has gotten better.

I was on 4 pills, cut down to 2 when found out i was preggers & everything was fine.

I was wondering if you could breastfeed while on Lialda.

If not i was thinking about weaning myself off since i'm doing better.

I will discuss with my doctor at next appt. of course.

I breastfed while I was on sulfasalazine and asacol - and asacol is pretty close to Lialda. So.... I would think so. The best thing would be to ask your doc.
If the breastfeeding is ok with the Lialda, I would think it would be best to stay on that 2 pills, because they say sometimes it doesn't work as well if you go off it and then later go back on it ....
