Feel a flare up coming on gp put me on cipro for prostate infection and every time I go on antibiotics is seems I have bad flare up still having bad constipation then I use smooth move tea and all day on the toilet lots of cramping so tired of feeling bad should not feel sorry for myself I know some people are in a lot worse shape than I.but need to talk to people that understand

I think that is one of the reasons why I am in a flare too, because of antibiotics for a UTI. It just sort of snowballed from there. Yes, only someone who has the same thing can really truly understand what it's like. Do you take any anti-spasmodics such as Bentyl for the cramping? If not, you can see if your doc can give you that or something similiar.

thanks Sherry I will talk to dr although he sometimes makes me feel like I a nitpicking and complaining too much you know how specialist can make you feel

If your specialist is making you feel that way then it's time to find a new one. My GI does not make me feel like that at all and in fact tells me regardless if it's something minor to call him anytime.

Are you on rectal meds as well as oral 5ASA?
You should consider a good quality high potency probiotic...take it at night before bedtime on a fairly empty stomach about an hour after your meds.

The antispasmodics are a great idea. I use the same as Sherry...its brand names may differ, but the medication is dicyclomine.

Call the doc.  Comparing your suffering to others only negates your own situation...it's not like you're making it up.

I have same problem with prostate (well prostatis anyways), weird thing didn't seem like Cipro helped that much for how it can mess up your body. Look at taking some Quecitin/bromelian supplement I think its spelled something like that, after about a month of taking it I found it really did help my prostate along with the flomax. It is also some benefit for colitis.

thank you folks will try what you said I think my problem is I have three Dr a GI a GP and a Arthritis Dr and I don't think they are all on the same page sometimes they are all with the same clinic group and do everything on a computer system but sometimes I think my file is so big that they only skim it and don't really study my case.
