Currently going through a severe flare up

Whenever I have to make a bowel movement I get a really bad burning pain in my stomach, then while I'm defecating the pain worsens to the point where I throw up because I just can't tolerate the pain. My stool is loose and extremely bloody(the whole toilet bowl will be a solid red). I have to run to the bathroom at least 15 times a day and each time it's extremely painful and I fill the toilet with blood.

I was diagnosed with UC when I was 11 or 12, I'm now 17 and I haven't had a flare up this bad, ever. I'm having trouble finding foods I can eat because everything goes right through me and then I have to suffer the pain of it coming out of me. Couldn't even hold down a bowl of cereal. I'm going on my 3rd week of missing school. Haven't been able to leave my house at all really. I'm starting to become depressed a little bit because I'm missing out on life and I'm stuck inside all day.

My normal doctor doesn't do much for me, and I can't see my GI until Nov. 7th. I'm taking 3 doses of Asacol 2 times a day, Prednisone once a day and a Meslamine enema every night. And none of the medication seems to be helping at all really. To be honest, the only time the pain goes away is when **I took out this reference as it is not allowed per forum rules**

Has anybody had a flare up this severe? Any tips?

i remember those exact feelings you're feeling right now... you're so not alone. it is a very depressing situation and i was out for a good 3 weeks as well... since i was pretty much bed-ridden or couch-ridden (unless i was on the toilet) i would try to cheer myself up by watching some of my favorite tv shows or comedies... if you're into reading, you can read an uplifting book or just something that will make u laugh...
just try to keep yourself well hydrated even though u know it's gonna pass right thru u... you dont want to end up in the hospital for dehydration... or actually, maybe u do want to end up in the hospital b/c @ least there u will get immediate attention and all the fluids/meds that u need. seriously, if you're in this much pain and have been going 15x/day you shouldn't have to wait til nov 7 to see your GI... get a new one... if i ever called my GI with those symptoms he would want to see me that day or at least talk to me over the phone if i couldn't get out of bed... good luck and i know it's frustrating but if u receive the right care i know u will feel better soon.

Wow, yeah get that doc on the phone.  I was prescribed some anti-spasmodic pills that helped some with the pain.  The only real help when it is as bad as yours, in my experience, was being on high dosages of Prednisone, up to 60 mg per day.  If your doc won't take a call, you might want to consider a new doc.  I agree with one of the previous posts - it is so important to stay in good spirits as much as you can.  Rent a movie, read, ask friends over who know and care about you.  And it's okay to be down, but stay up when you can.

You should call your GI right away. You should be able to see them this week!

10mg Prednisone will do nothing to help you get better- you need a much higher dose.

I hate hosptials but you sound really sick. Not only can you be dehyrating, but with all the blood loss you can become anemic pretty quickly-happened to me. I would go to the ER ASAP. No doctor should have you wait that long to be seen in your condition.
