I just dropped to 6 asacols (from 7) a day, and enemas and canasas every third day (from every other day).
Is assume this is the rock bottom on the taper for my pancolitis.
I'm nervous because the last couple times I got this low things went sideways. First I was only on Asacol and maybe Canasas now and again, and I flared. The second time I was on enemas and dropped to every third day and I got rectal inflammation.
So I'm a bit nervous. I know what to do if things bounce back. Just a little nervous. I kind of wanted to stay just above the bottom taper level -- just for psychological comfort.

Well, as you said, you know what to do. We all do I think! But, give it a chance. I think that's all you can do. And if things go sideways, you will deal with it when it happens. One of my favorite quotes is, "Worrying is as pointless as trying to go up a hill in a rocking chair. You can try all you want, but you're still going to be stuck in the same spot at the end". So, deep breaths and think positive! :)

I think 6 a day is seen as a normal maintenence dose. I would be very happy if I could take Canasa and 6 Asacol, that is not too difficult to deal with. You should see my crazy medicine cabinet.

I have a medicine basket, one's live and one's a graveyard of abandoned remedies

I've got a lot of expensive mutaflor in the fridge that I abandoned because it made me pass too much gas and liquid.
