I have been in the worst flare of my life since Aug3. I have not used a disability claim since 2004 and that was minimal, now that I need it when I have been paying it all along they give me the hardest time, in fact they cut me off. They make it sound like I am faking! My doctor and I do all they tell us and still they give me a hard time, I dont want to be this sick, What is wrong with them?

My guess is that they give us such a hard time in order to weed out those who indeed are faking. It's frustrating and - just horrible to have to go through some of the things ins puts us through! (I've not done the disability thing, but I'm mired in similar paperwork for a family member.)
And then, with UC (and some other conditions) because of the flare/remission thing, sometimes we're fine, sometimes we're not. Heck, that's even hard for my mother-in-law to understand in regard to meal preparation when we visit them - as you said, almost infers I'm faking since sometimes beans and corn and fine for me and other times they're not....

In California, IBD is not a disability, because it does not impair mobility or vision and is not a heart, lung or circulatory disease. We need to change this. If a person is in a wheel chair. Yes. It is difficult for them to get to where they want to go, but at least they won't poo their pants doing so.

I have written to the CCFA about this--to ask them to pursue this issue. Please do the same.
