OT - Any favorite holiday movies or songs?

Every year, there are certain movies around this time of year that's a must see for me. My favorites are  Planes, Trains, and Automobiles with Steve Martin and Jon Candy, and Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase. Of course I like the really old ones too, but these are just two I have to watch every year and they are just as funny to me as when I first watched them! Nostalgic maybe, but fun. The songs I love to hear are Feliz Navidad and Rockin' around the Christmas Tree. Don't ask me why, but I sing at the top of my lungs when they are on! What movies or songs are traditions for you?

Ha. Those are my four movies right there. Planes, Trains (especially the part at the car rental counter at the airport   Christmas Vacation; It's a Wonderful Life; and A Christmas Story. You'll shoot your eye out!

My two favorite songs are O Holy Night and Adoration by a band called Newsboys.

 

 

Forgot my favorite song. One of the most beutiful songs I have ever heard is Ave Maria by Violinist, Isaac Stern.

ELF!

My first choice before even reading replies was going to be Planes, Trains & Automobiles. Love, love, love that movie. Could watch it a hundred times! Also, While You Were Sleeping (yes I know, major chick flick). Not embarrassed to admit I like the first two Home Alone movies (my daughters when little got me into these movies). There's something so sweet about young Macaulay Culkin that says Christmas to this mom. lol I'm a sap for any old TV show's holiday episodes - from Mary Tyler Moore, to Happy Days, to Rosanne, to the Little House ones. Not to forget the Waltons.

But I do think my favorite movie has to be P, T and A - may you RIP John Candy.

Anyways I like Christmas Story and Rudolph, the claymation one. Most of the old claymation ones.

Laughing! I didn't know what "glomp" meant so thank you Quincy! Yes, many artists have taken their own style to Christmas music. We have a radio station that's been playing Christmas music for the last few weeks non-stop and many of them are crazy versions of old time Christmas carols.

     Christmas Story....my grandson is a dead ringer for Ralphie....glasses and all!

My husband actually has one of those old time Red Ryder BB guns! Last year he decided to get it out because we watched Christmas Story (his favorite)...and I've been finding BB's on the floor every since! Ha!

I'm not a Mariah Carey fan but I like her old X-mas album. Back when she could sing.

I hated the Titanic too. I was so upset when she threw her diamond ring away. What a waste!

As for X-Mas, it's my worst holiday. I hate buying gifts and worrying about whether or not people will like the gifts I got them.
I usually spend the whole year shopping for gifts; so of course almost everyone ravs about the gifts I got them. But if I see they didn't use something
that I had given them, I get upset that I bought a gift that went to waste. From this year forward, I'm giving gift cards. Of course, some people aren't
too happy about this.

I love Chinese New Years though. We give and get new money to buy what we want :)

As for fav holiday movies or songs, I guess I'll pick The Nightmare Before Christmas. I've seen it too many times though. I'll watch the latest Harry Potter movie instead.

My #1 Favorite song is called One silent night by Burlap to Cashmere and Jaci Veleasquez. When u listen to that song, it'll give you chills up your spine and everywhere else. ;)
