There is a subjective point of view of how we see our UC and and objective one. both are relevant, and probably for us the subjective one is the most important. Anyway they are correlated.
the subjective one may include: bowel movements, pain, whether we have or we do not have D and so on.
the objective one may include: bleeding, blood tests, colonoscopy results, biopsy results and so on.
This study focused on the objective point of view mostly. So you can feel that red meat is no trouble to you, but are you certain that while you have it on your table you are not contribuing to mantaining the inflamation in your gut? Inflamation does not necessarely means D or even bleeding, you can have ulcerations in your colon whithout those - like i do for example. I have active UC without D or blood most of the time.
So it's hard for me to say that red meat or brocoli don't hurt and this way to put aside a good medical study based on scientific evidences.
P.S.
I too put a lot of wheight on the subjective point of view since i am doing the SCD.
