Look into ADA!!! Your company could get in to serious trouble if you lose your job. You need to research this and bring it to them. Find someone to represent you at the ADA. Don't give up. I was in the same boat, not enough hours for FMLA, etc.....
I was thinking the same thing. The law is very strict when it comes to discriminating against people with a medical condition. You might even want to talk to a lawyer for some free advice if you can. Keep all documents of every email/conversation you had proving you gave your company advance notice of your leave.
