Bleeding a lot this morning

I woke up with a lot of nausia all morning and have had 4 seperate bowls where its pretty much just a lot of blood. The nausia goes away for a few minutes then comes back and its more blood. I have an appt. In about 5 hours with my GI but if this continues i might need the ER first. What do you think?

Sorry you are going through this and I hope it gets better. All the ER could do for me in that situation was give me prednisone and a handout on ulcerative colitis -- unless of course you need to be hospitalized. Two out of seven of my visits to the ER for my first flare ended up in hospital stays.

Im on 60mg pred for the past few days now and its not really helping like last time. Im going to ask my GI if i can taper to 55 today because i dont want to be on pred for long.

you need rectal meds....why go to the ER.go to your doc.

I would wait and go to the GI too. 4 BMs isn't too many.

The ER won't be able to do much if anything to help you turn your flare around in five hours time. You'll just be more uncomfortable being in the ER instead of being home.

Thx. I had like 15 total very bloody stools so far today but it looks like its calming now. I had my 3yrold here so i didnt want to pass out or something but now mom is home :)
