Extreme pain during bowel movement?

Hey guys,

Unfortunately I had a bad new years, hopefully everyone else had a great one! I had a slice of pizza before the new years celebration, usually I can have pizza without it bothering me surprisingly. I went to a different pizzeria though to try them out and boy that was a mistake. Right now I have so much pain when I have a bowel movement in my rectum. I've had this before but this is extremely bad. It's like a burning sensation and feels like there's a lot of pressure. Has anyone experienced this before, and if so what did you do to relieve the pain? Thank you so much and Happy New Years!

I think I have something like that. I have this weird bump by my anus that sometimes bleeds and actually gets gas in it sometimes. It gets smaller and bigger sometimes. Usually when I'm feeling well it'll be almost gone, but then when I'm in a bad flare it'll get extremely large and tender. Was yours like that?

My nasty clotted hemmie came into being after I had a long period of constipation which led to a lot of pressure when having a BM. There was some bright red blood at times during a BM, but mostly extreme pain when stool passed over it.

I just happened to have a consultation with a colo-rectal surgeon when I had it, and he scoped the hemmies and noticed what he called a thrombosis (blood vessel with a clot in it). He said that was the source of the pain, but he also said it was unusual and hemmies don't usually cause such pain.

Without him doing a scope and actually seeing it (since it was internal), I would never have been able to tell if the pain was U.C. related or caused by a hemmie. At the time I also had pretty severe inflammation in the lower part of the rectum which made things worse.

Are you having any other noticable U.C. symptoms like urgency, mucous, tenesmus or going a lot?

so, are rectal meds taboo to ask about?

Quincy sorry Yeah I've tried rectal meds. They did nothing for me. I did the cortenemas. They only make me feel better in the morning then I feel like crap again in the afternoon even after taking them for about a month. I've done steroids as well but they don't put me in remission. I can't take 5ASA meds because they cause me to have pancreatitis. I've had so many medicines fail for me it's unfortunate. The only thing that worked for me was 6MP with Remicade but the fear of cancer got the best of me. I had lymph nodes showing up everywhere, it was quite scary so as soon as I stopped the 6MP back in April of 09, it's been hell for me. Haven't really had a normal day. It's quite frustrating. I don't have time for surgery nor do I want o get it because even with surgery I would still go around 4 times a day for the rest of my life. I'm not going to take that chance when something might come out eventually. I just wish they would do more research towards colitis because I'm sick of having a life revolving around Colitis. You know how it is, always worried about where the nearest bathroom is. It sucks at 20 years old you know. I'm a college student and I just want to have fun. I'm too young for this -____- It feels good to vent sometimes!

I've tried everything. All kinds of diets. My immune system is a crack head I swear. I'm not doing surgery though, not at 20 years old. I can't have that right now. I feel like surgery to me is giving up, that's just my opinion though. I'm sure surgery has helped many people out there, but I'm not doing that now. I can't while I'm in college, but I'm not going to give up yet. No matter how hard it gets, I'm going to get through this. I know they'll come out with something sooner or later. I did have a signature but I don't know what happened to it. It doesn't show anymore.
