Hi DC89 and welcome.
We were told that 30%, of people who have had bowel surgery, will have an obstruction with the first 10 years and 30% of those will have it within the first month following surgery. Therefore, you are not alone. Usually, however, the obstruction will resolve itself and only infrequently need surgery. Sometimes massaging the area and WALKING will help. The problem is that the intestines are always moving about and sometimes can caught up on adhesions from the surgery..this being said they can also uncatch. If surgery is needed I would think that it would be pretty straight forward.....I know you cannot help but worry though.
