My 2 cents based on the enormous research that I did. I'm not a doctor or med / bio scientist, but have science background and can understand statistics.
1) we have a problem with our immune system (T-bet deficiency?) that makes the mucosa to function improperly (mucosa is super complex and a piece of the puzzle is that it's deficient in rPC). Some events (bacterial, viral infections, pregnancy, hormonal changes, MAP infection etc) jump starts the disease. I believe it's an unknown bacteria, that's why a lot of Asian countries are getting the disease now, too.
Bacteria enters the mucosa and reaches the epithelial tissue, which should be bacteria-free. The body reacts to get rid of bacteria, then we get inflammation, ulcers.
in a perfect word, the cure would:
fix the T-bet deficiency or whatever makes us vulnerable
clean up the bacteria that invaded the epithelial
heal the mucosa
establish good balance of bacteria in the gut
