Now experiencing diarrhea from antibiotics....florastor? c-diff testing?

Hi everyone. This is the start of day 7 of the required 7 days to take the hpac antibiotics for h.pylori. and since the morning about 5 a.m. experiencing bouts of diarrhea about every 20minutes to 1/2 hour, small amounts each time. But one difference, is the pain in the upper right quadrant area is diminishing each time I go to the bathroom. Just waiting for doctor's office to open so I can phone.

Can c-diff be detected now before any major blood shows up? BTW the UC is not acting too bad right now, mild blood on that part.

Also for florastor, which dosage has anyone tried? I am going to continue with the bio-k yogourt right now until I can get the florastor delivered to my address, not available in my local and manitoba areas.

I agree that at this point, I'd suspect the diarrhea is just because the antibiotic is killing off the gut flora and not because of a C. diff problem. FWIW, when my son is on augmentin (he's two, and was on it quite a bit for ear infections before we had tubes put in this summer), if he doesn't get mega-doses of probiotics, he gets terrible diarrhea. But he's never gotten C. diff.

I wouldn't wait on the florastor to be delivered, honestly. I go out and find a probiotic with a high colony forming unit count, and start taking it ASAP.
