anymore. I was getting regular Asacol from a Patient Assistance Program (Warner Chilcott), but I got a letter in the mail in December stating that they could no longer provide Asacol to their patients. I have no prescript
ion insurance. Anyway, I called my doctor and they sent me an Asacol HD Patient Savings Card. I used it one time in December and was able to get my pills for $50.00. I tried to use it today, and it was going to cost me $685. The card has been changed so that it will save you $50.00 a month. I called the company and spoke to them and they said it changed on January 1st.
I cannot afford this medication. Yet I need something for my disease. I also take Canasa which I get from another patient assistance program. Anyway, I read some other posts, and I am sorry that the cost of Asacol is affecting many of us so much. :( Does anyone have any ideas on what to do? I know some of you suggest Canadian Asacol. If it works the same, then I'll have to go with that. Also, I read some of you use Lialda. Also, what kind of mail ordering systems do you use? I read that mail ordering might be cheaper. I will be calling my doctor again to see what he can suggest.
I don't like handouts, and I am trying so hard to support myself. It's hard not to get down sometimes. Unfortunately, this medication's cost is just out of sight for those of use w/o prescription insurance.
I wish you all a wonderful night.
God Bless,
RoseMarion
My colitis started in 1991. I didn't get a proper diagnosis until 2008.
