Yay for babies and pregnant mommas!!! Congrats to you all!!!! I have been MIA recently, but am chiming in here too. I am 12 weeks now with #3. But like you, Imac, this is my first since UC, so it feels like the first time in some ways. I am on Remicade, which all of my various docs ok'ed. I am nervous about it still, but they seem to be confident in its safety. So far, so good with the UC, knock on wood. Pregnancy in and of itself can cause issues with BMs, so I have been concerned. I have had a bit of constipation here and there, but I will take that anyday! And I caught a cold-the first few days, i was worried because I went to the bathroom 3 times (normal right now is once), and while I didn't have urgency, IDK-there was a feeling that I had that got me worried. But now that my cold is getting better, I seem to be doing fine in the bathroom too.
In fact, I have even noticed that dairy, my no no food, hasn't been bothering me as much as usual. I eat pizza at my ILs house every week and usually the next day I am bloated because of it, but that didn't happen this weekend. I am hoping and praying things stay calm.
I had 2 c/s with my girls because they were both breech, so I have to have another with this one. I am so scared of it. I worry so much about them being in there and moving the bowels around and such. I hope and pray it goes ok. Anyone have a c/s with UC and have it work out ok?
Also, I posted about this just a few minutes ago-do any of you know about nursing while on Remicade? I am not sure about it, but am trying to gather as much info as I can.
Kara-don't be scared!!! It is your body, you know it best. I have done that before as well, and worked on finding meds that DID work. My problems were with rectals, but my doc didn't hate me. They just gave me something different. Could you try another med instead of the lialda?
Boxermom-I am so so happy for you!!!! I can completely understand your upset about being on pred, but it sounds like it was the best choice. And I know plenty of people who have taken it during pregnancy and had zero complications. Have you had a chance to have a peek at the baby yet? I am praying that you have a healthy and happy pregnancy.
Imac girl-why did you have to stop Humira? I ask because I was on it through a study a while ago, and while I would have gotten kicked out of the study had I gotten pg then, they told me they would try and keep me on it anyway, if that had happened. I talked with everyone extensively before we got pregnant with this one, because I was only willing to do it is the Remicade was ok for the pregnancy, which they all said it is. They will adjust the dosing schedule at the end. Regardless, I am glad you are feeling well and I hope it keeps up!!!
UC Momma-congrats on your sweet baby girl!!! I am sorry you had such a rough pregnancy, but so glad you are feeling good now. I hope it stays that way!! I worry that if I end up having a good pregnancy, I will end up flaring post birth. I guess time will tell, huh? I am also interested to know if this was your first with UC?
