Hi, I thought when I was first diagnosed with UC on 12/11/10 I was pretty lucky because the only real symptom I had was some bleeding, I was put on Asacol HD 1 TID, the bleeding seemed to get better but then for some lucky reason my symptoms got worse starting feeling pretty sick bleeding quite a bit more, lost 15lbs, diarrhea and stomach cramps. I had a f/u with my GI yesterday and he prescribed cortenemas 1 at bedtime for 2wks and he gave me 1 refill, said if I wasn't feeling better to refill it. He told me to put in the enema and lay on my back for 5min. then on my left side for 30min. Can I put in the enema in in the bathroom and then get up and go to my bed or should I stay lying down and not get up until after the 35min. or do you guys that use enemas, do you administer them in bed..
Thanks for any help, I have learned a lot about this disease by reading through these boards and I am very grateful for this site, as it seems a lot of people just don't really understand. While I am very lucky and blessed with my husband and friends and they try to be understanding I just don't thinkd they fully "get it"
