A blood clot is "a semisolid gelatinous mass of coagulated blood that consists of red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets entrapped in a fibrin network."
I have never had a blood clot with mucus in it. If I mush them, I see 100% blood.
I got the most blood clots when my ulcers were deep, and I was peeing brown and red liquid. In other words, pure diarrhea and blood with intermittent blood clots. They are usually the size of a quarter in diameter. Round balls of blood.

As soon as I mention blood clots, my GI mentions pred.
