Post colonoscopy

Had one with new doctor today.  I evidently now hold record for most biopsies taken.   56 in total.  I wanted to reach up and hit the guy for doing that to me, but I guess I can understand.  Noted my colon was scarred completely throughout.  Just a few ulcers.  Cecum good.  Bleeding now, again.  Tried to time it a week after the remi infusion to keep down flare chances.  Won't get results back for week or so, but I told him I had no connection to my colon at this point and I will take it out at even the mention of surgery.  If it is that scarred up then it isn't functional at this point anyway.  His thought was to keep checking it till cancer shows then remove it.   Not sure I agree with his train of thought, but I'll see what the results come up with. 

No, lol.  They gave me something IV and in about 30 seconds I was into a deep sleep.  Woke up right as they were finishing.

I do sulfasalazine.  The others never worked very long.   Seems the UC is much much better, BUT the damage already there is where my symptoms are coming from now. 

Ouch. That is a lot of scopes. 56 and Quincy 36. I've only had 5 since 2004. Why would you go so often if I may ask? Other than for the yearly ones, or do you personally prefer to go more often to keep on top of the cancer issues?

Should we be having this done more often as a monitoring precaution? I was thinking of this more often ie., every 6 months. This will be an item to discuss with the GE appointment next week for sure.

Dr. A....any rectal meds in order for you possibly to help the inflammation that is there..using in conjunction with the sulfasalazine?

Something's working...good your whole colon isn't inflamed however.

Kat...I've only had 8 c-scopes, or is it 7..have to check.
