Ok, I posted yesterday about my son on Iron overload,,,he is 43 years old...had colitis since he was 34,,,finially got on Remicade 2 years ago, and is been
in a semi remission...goes only about 3 or 4 times first thing in the morning.
Anyway,,,we got the Forvia and when he started taking them twice a day,,,he was feeling really really tired. His joints started to ache, and his
abdomen ached. He figured he must be anemic due to the fact, he doesn't eat right.. No veggies,,or fruit, just meat and potato kinda guy.
But this fatigue was wearing him down and that is when he discovered he had this iron overload. It is called Hemochromotosis. Look it up, he
had all the symtoms. So he gave blood yesterday, and his primary doctor told him to get his iron checked in a month, quit the Forvia, and Vit. C
and eat foods with low iron content. The part that irritates him, that over the years,,with all the blood tests he has had to have,,no doctor
ever had his iron level checked,,,just your regular CBC. which was always good. If he hadn't asked to have his iron checked for anemia, the
doctor may not have done it this time...but, my son had to ask him!!! His gastro. doctor never checked it either. I guess you gotta do some
detective work on your own, and he did. Didn't know that too much iron can be so dangerous if left untreated.!!!
Anyway,,,there you have it,,I hope this info may help someone.
