Washing underwear routine - Asacol yellowing

Can anyone relate to this??!

The Asacol I take causes lots of staining on my underwear, so to be safe I usually wear two pairs.

Anyway for years I have been in the routine of soaking those stained parts into a mixture of bleach and Tide before washing.  Seriously, can any guys relate to this?!? 

If I don't do anything and just throw my underwear into the wash they are really never...clean!

Isn't Asacol wonderful?!?

don't recall this happening to me but considering the stains on the toilet, possible... Sounds like you are leaking? maybe a urologist can address that... Maybe try non-white underwear?

I never had that happen when I was on Asacol either. However, I understand about the staining because whenever I would have a UTI, I would take a pain pill that turned my urine a bright neon orange. Even not leaking, the left over residue from after having to use the bathroom would stain my underwear. So when that happens, I would wear a panty shield.

As I recall, there was a guy posting on the forum quite a while back who had the underwear problem while on sulfasalazine. He did get several replies, but I don't remember his name for you to search back on-- sorry. / Old Hat (30 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)

I know they can be uncomfortable (i.e. bunching) but you might try panty liners to save your undies!

Are you talking about the Asacol enemas?  When I was on them I used to get stains overnight, I wondered if it was just me.  But I was wearing period pads so it was ok.

I know what your talking about. You have to drink more water to dilute the color and you have to make an extra effort to finish up before zipping up. If your always in a hurry it is more evident while on sulfasalazine.
