Well, you know that the colazal won't treat the rectum...even if a small amount gets there by remaining for a while.
Get on Rowasa or at the very least suppositories.
Skinny stools can be from IBS, the fissures, hemmies or inflammation.
For me...I've recently had a bout with a fissure and external hemmie. I was remiss in treating them (seems so much effort to put something ON my butt when I'm running late, etc...lol.
I noticed more gas for 2 days...nothing else changed, but I could "feel" my butt constantly, and the area into my cheeks were HOT!!..sheesh.
So I just started the enemas nightly for 4 nights. No urgency or anything like that, but I've noticed in the past that anal inflammation can certainly encourage rectal reaction.
Yes, I've used external meds as well now...I never learn do I?
Your call, but I wouldn't wait.
I'd stay on the 6Colazal and just add the rectals. If you end up with diarrhea then consider after if you want to up the Colazal..
Keep us posted.
What different SSRI are you on now?
