Holding enemas throughout day

Does anyone take enemas in the morning and hold all day ? Just curious. I figure the best time to take them is after you have cleaned out area by going to bathroom in the morning yet we all take them at night.

I don't think I could! I have a hard enough time retaining them laying in bed at night. I know last night I had to get up about 4 hours after I took it to tend to the baby and had to run off to the bathroom.

I just did mine at night for the convenience and the fact that I didn't move. I think that if I was to use them in the mornings that it would be harder to retain them...gravity. However, when I could us Canasa, I would use them in the morning with no issue.

Sherry: I've also done Canasa in the morning with no problems. I wish that would have been enough to treat my inflammation as they are so much easier to use.

If you will stay still as described in the prospect on your left side for about 30 mins and if you pull out the air from the bottle before inserting the enema, you'll be able to hold it for a long time.
Anyway, the night it's still the best period take an enema...

I've used them in the morning when I am not doing too much during the day and I haven't had a problem retaining them. if you're able to retain them better in the morning because you've emptied out, i think it's a good idea to use them in the morning.

I've had success popping in Canasa during the day, on the go. Usually after a bowel movement so I know it's hopefully not gonna want to leave. Rowasa as well, but that's a bit harder, like someone said sitting/laying still for a bit before moving around helps. If my stomach is "gurgling" I know it'll be difficult to stay in...

I would never be able to hold an enema during the day! I can do suppositories though.

Can you tell me what Canasa is I have never heard of this before I joined this forum?
I have used Asacol foam enemas but its such a chore every night I often miss them and then get out of the routine. I'm a terrible patient!

Canasa is a mesalamine suppository.
