I had a few too many drinks took my sulfasalazine and threw up

I'm afraid now to get back on meds since saturday night, I dont know why, but I ate took my meds and went out to the bar and I got voilently ill.

 

Should I wait a week to start back on the sulfa to give my body a rest? I guess I know now I can't take them anywhere near the time I'm going to have a drink. skull

If you're not feeling nauseous right now then it might be wise to take your meds again.

ok I will start at lunch today. I thought i killed my liver. Today I'm sitting with the guilts, like how did I let it get so bad with the drinking, but really, it wasn't a lot. I just don't drink a lot. I'm light in weight and a lite weight drinker and didn't eat a whole bunch a combo of things.  I'm trying everything to repair the damage, like drinking a lot of water, juice and my healthy shakes. I'm so embarrassed.

I wouldn't wait a week, like Red said, I would wait until I was feeling better and then take them. If you feel like yu can stomach a pill, it's better to take it than to end up having UC symptoms. How are you feeling? Are you on 4 400mg sulfa? That's a low dose.

Be careful about the health shakes. They would probably cause issues for many UC sufferers.

I thought the dose was low too, two pills twice a day, but I do canasa two a day one in the morning and one at night and this helps alot

I would be more afraid of drinking than of taking my meds- it's not the meds that made you sick, it's the booze. No big deal, just drink a little less next time. Out of curiosity- it's ok to drink on Rocephin shot? I know with most antibiotics they all have "Do Not Drink" warnings- some (like Flagyl) can make you very very ill if you drink, even a tiny bit. But you never got that warning with the Rocephin?
