I called my Doctor to find out about my iron levels, and whilst talking to the nurse, I mentioned that I was still having significant urgency issues and some bleeding. I didn't think the enemas were doing much good and wanted to stop them. I am also still 5 weeks away from my next Remi infusion, and was wondering what the expectation of Remicade is - how well should it work, for how long, should I still be bleeding, how many BMs a day should I be having etc. The nurse told me it is common for the remicade to take a bit longer to work in some people. I hope the Remi continues to work and improves.
I am currently having 9-10 BMs a day (down from 14-19), often with blood, and about 1/2 are D or loose. The other 1/2 can be perfectly formed but unbelievably urgent. I have had 3 doses of Remi, last one 3 weeks ago.
So, he has asked me to come in for a flex to see what's up. Wish me luck.
You know you have UC when you look forward to your flex/colonoscopy so you can find out what's going on!
