hi all,ive been taking imuran 8 weeks now,im off the pred 4 weeks now,i think the imuran is doing its job as things are settled.also years ago i suffered bad with psoriasis(skin condition)though in the last 10yrs it has just been on my elbows,and now it is gone.some people with bad skin disorders are given imuran so thats what makes me think its working in my body,i'll keep my fingers crossed that things stay this way and my diet does not seem to be bothering me..i read on the forum every day and im still learning about this disease from you guys,so thanks all and i'll keep you all updated from time to time,or if i flare you'll hear from me everyday.lol

How much prednisone were you taking when you started the imuran? I started my imuran a little over a week ago and I'm currently taking 20mg prednisone a day but I'm hoping to start my taper soon so that once I'm finally off the prednisone I can see if the new medication is actually doing anything!

sconnie, i was taking 30mg of pred for week then 20 ans so on, but in the pass after finishing pred i was just waiting on the blood coming,well up to now no blood, good luck with the imuran it works for lots.

When I started on 6mp, I was tickled that it got rid of my psoriasis as well :)

That's great news. I wish I could have taken the Imuran.  I am going to see if the 6mp is any better.

My 10 yr old daughter has been on Pentasa 4 tabs and was on Prednisone for 3 months . As we tapered off the prednisone she would flare up again , we finally got completely off and she flared a week later . Dr said today that he would like to try a week of antibiotics and see if it helps and if not its back on the Prednisone and Imuran . This will be a first on Imuran and im very nervous ! Reading your posts on here i am starting to feel better ! Thanks everyone !

I am very happy to hear that the Imuran is working for you.  As you know Imuran did wonders for my colitis.  I am enjoying a 2 year remission at this point.  Keep us posted.  Are you having a follow colonoscopy any time soon?  Again, I am very happy for you.

Awesome news! didn't realise you had psoriasis as well. Seems two diseases quiesced with one pill.
