No not necessarily. Probiotics are bacteria(usually lactic acid bacteria) that when ingested have a health benefit. They usually do not colonize the gut. The bacteria they are talking about
are permanent residents and not lactic acid bacterias.
I guess it is possible that certain probiotics would work better, work less well or not at all in people with certain bacteria types. I don't know if it is clear that probiotics interact with your gut bacteria or not.
I think they are talking about
recolonizing with your type of permanent resident bacteria to cure or treat disease.
