More weird symptoms... prednisone or what?

I mentionned in another post about how I'm having eye problems that I think might be related to prednisone. The corner of my left eye is swollen (a small amount) and feels strange.

I've also been having tension in my nose, occasionally around my eyebrows (feels like pressure), in my temples, I have ringing in my ears and my cheeks feel loose. Sometimes the skin on my face (cheeks and eyelids mostly) will twitch briefly. Sometimes I get tingling in my face and head. Sometimes I have short/rapid migranes in the top of my skull.

I've been having some of these problems before I was on prednisone but to be honest I don't know what is prednisone and I don't know what is something else. I've seen quite a few ENT specialists, a GP and brought it up with my gastroenterologist. All of them passed the ball and said they had no idea and that it wasn't their field. The GP put me on anti-inflammatories because he suspected I was clenching my jaw (Bruxism). The ENT(s) ruled out a sinus infection/sinusitis with X-rays so it's not that.

I want to see an Opthamologist but to be honest, I think the eye problem is just a symptom and not the source. I don't know which doctor to see and everytime I see a doctor they just pass it to someone else.

Any help would be appreciated. I don't know if this is UC / Prednisone related but I'm all out of ideas.

I am sorry you're having all of these strange symptoms. I think we all deal with these things to some extent. I have this popping in my ear that will last for a few days at a time and every time I mention it to a doctor, they blow it off. I guess, what can they really do about my popped ear? It's very annoying and I will have probably less than 50% hearing while it is popped and like I said, it can last for days.

I have had some of the symptoms you mention from pred like the tingles or twitches but I remember having twitches here and there prior to pred. I have to wonder if some of these things are somewhat normal. I clench my jaw a lot and I know that is not from pred. I can't figure out why I clench. I also get a popping in my jaw that drives me insane, do you have popping or just clenching? My clenching seems to come with a migraine. I saw a neurologist for the migraines and she didn't seem too concerned about the clenching.

It seems like we have a lot of similar symptoms. Maybe we both have the same undiagnosible illness? Maybe we need to see Rheumotologists... I think that is my next step. I was going to see an ENT about my ear but I decided it is probably a lost cause. I am not goign to have surgery for it nor would I take any more pill so I will just have to deal with the deafness for a few days.

My sister has ulcerative colitis too and she's been on prednisone for years. I called her and asked her about these symptoms and she said she had a lot of the same things... I guess I should call my own flesh and blood before I jump on the internet and ask, haha.

In my case, I've seen a ton of doctors and have been humiliated a number of times. I thought I had serious symptoms, I went in and was made to feel like I wasted everyone's time and they sent me out. So I told myself I'd only go to the doctor of the symptoms were actually painful and were bothering me. I do have an anxiety disorder and on top of that, I just quit a job where I was working 16 hours per day, six days a week for four months (I'm finished it tomorrow and am starting a job with humane hours).

I guess it could be a combination of stress, lack of sleep, prednisone and the fact that I quit smoking a few months ago.

Can't wait until my body returns to normal. First order of business, start exercising again :)
