My doctor had this test ordered after my fistula to test and see if do have Crohn's instead of UC due to fistula's being more common in Crohn's. I just got my results back and everything was consistent with UC and not Crohn's so I still have the surgery option available if I need it :)

Finally, some positive news.

well I've been seriously considering the j pouch surgery and crohn's would of put a big no into those plans. I wanted to be able to have the surgery option if I needed it.

Very true. But you have to remember, even if you had CD, you still have a malfunctioning colon. It would've been one less thing to worry about, however I suppose that if you DID have CD, Jpouch probably wouldn't be an ideal surgery but rather an Ileo instead.

If I had my way, you wouldn't have EITHER! Nor any of us for that matter.

I've heard those tests aren't too accurate.

I agree with notsosicklygirl. My test said I don't have IBD at all and I have pancolitis! If not crohns colitis! I still wish u the best! Stay positive, that's what I'm doing for my upcoming surgery!
