badslinke,
Since being diagnosed with UC, I have made major changes to my diet because I had to. I went from someone who loved food, to someone who hated food because everything made me sick. I did some research and found info on food combining - are you familiar with it? It makes alot of sense - add the wrong foods and the resultant product is: acid, gas, GERD, bloating, diarrhea, etc....
So until I got on the Transdermal LDN, I was basically on a protein diet - whey protein shakes made with almond milk, a portion of fish, chicken for lunch and dinner. No carbs, no fruit, no veggies ( I found that if I ate anything else, it would aggravate and make me bleed more).
But after my 2nd week on Transdermal LDN, I became more bold because I was feeling great - so I started to cheat. I had pizza one day, without any repurcussions. Had fruit and veggies, no problems. But other than pizza, I always kept in mind the true food combining rules, i.e. never mixed carbs with proteins, fruits with carbs or proteins, etc...
I still cheat without any consequences, as long as I keep to the food combining rules. Whereas before Transdermal LDN, if I had any ice cream = terrible consequences.
Now, I can actually enjoy ice cream without suffering.
Last week I did have a delicious burger (not from famous places, but rather homemade joint), and no problems - and that was classically poor food combining: bread as a carb + meat as protein.
Skip had told me that he knew of many who after months of LDN, had been able to eradicate their food intolerances, and get a more varied diet without suffering the consequences.
Anyway, you may want to give food combining a try... and see how it works for you. Or, just wait until the LDN does its thing and will enable you to eat more foods?
Thanks for asking - and please keep me in the loop as to your progress :)
