Remicade - do you have to take it forever?

My nurse practitioner told me that if I start on Remicade and it works for me then they will want me to stay on it forever because if I stop then I might develop resistance and it might not work when I started again. Has anyone else heard this? I haven't seen it on my searches of this forum and other websites.

That's always been my understanding. And you will go back to the disease status you had before.
I have never heard that a couple of doses will do anything, although some people only have a few infusions because they can't tolerate it or it doesn't work for them.
