Severe hand cramps wile tapering off Preegnisone. 60mgs, now 25mgs

I having severe hand cramps, my fingers are curling up, and the mussels around the fingers get hard like a rock, and the pain is off the hook.

( Im just out of the hospital 4 weeks now, and am doing great. No bleeding, formed stools for the first time in years, and gained 30 lb..... I was 127 when admitted. I had malnutrition and was anemic and my Labs showed my blood chemistry was barley supporting life. Pregnisone pulled me out of hell and most likely saved my life ).

Yesterday I went from 30 mgs to 25 mgs and my hands started cramping up to the point I couldn't get the key to my car door. Took some calcium and magnesium on an empty stomach and it worked for a wile, but after dinner the cramps are back. Any thoughts? !!!

Cramps while coming off (and on) a steroid is horrible. I have never used pred but I get that with the steroid enemas. I found that drinking lots of water and eating potassium rich foods to help. For me it's bananas. I don't normally get the cramps in my hands but my thighs, calves and feet.

I had terrible leg cramps. Potassium helped.
