I started Remicade Yesterday on May 23 2011.
My infusion doctor called me and said to come in Monday to discuss cost and everything. Monday came and i got there on time ready with a paper of questions and she wanted to collect 175.00 copay. i was like, "175.00 for a consultation type visit?" she says no, for your first infusion. I was unprepared mentally for it but went through with it anyone because it needed to be done anyway. (i got the answers to those questions before hand so it was all good). sat in this really comfortable recliner while they went over papers and had me sign a few things, took two Tylenol and 1 benadryl then she puts the IV drip in and hooked up remicade and i sat there for three hours that day. I was nervous the entire time but by the end i really felt like a veteran. My second infusion will be June 6th. Today i dont really feel different other than My Severe Joint point has decreased and so has my UC symptoms. both have changed Drastically OVERNIGHT and im excited to see how the next few days turn out. During the infusion i was tired from the benadryl and was in out of sleep.

great news, I began getting better in a couple of days and then stayed the same for about
2 weeks (70% better) I had a couple of blips and got really scared. My second infusion was 5/13 and I am about
95% better. Should be off pred by next infusion.
Best of luck, take care!

What side effects, if any, do you feel?

That's great. I'm glad you noticed a difference. Hopefully, it will get you into remission. I wish it had worked for me. I know you were on the fence about
it or the LDN. I personally think you did the right thing going with the Remicade. Good luck.

I am going for my third and final "loading phase" infusion on May 29th. I found the effects to be immediate and amazing. I had a very severe 2 month flare (active pancolitis) which proved to be resistant to everything prior to starting Remicade. The first infusion stopped it dead in its tracks overnight. I was eating regularly with zero discomfort a week later and now about
a month later have gained back 25 of the 50 lbs I lost during the flare. Glad to hear it's working for you also!

I've been on Remicade for five years now, with nary a side effect. Hope it works as well for you all as it has for me.
