6mp or remicade.. which is worse for pregnancy?

i am currently on both 6mp and remicade right now, as well as asacol hd... i've always been under the impression that remicade was worse for pregnancy because it's an infusion and just feels like i'm getting chemo every 2 mos. plus it seems like the last drug doctors prescribe when all the others dont work... anyway, i was carefully reading up on all the meds i'm on and found that 6mp is a category D while remicade is category B! so it actually seems like 6mp is worse?? and it clearly says on the side of the bottle: pregnant women should avoid contact with this medication!

i'm not pregnant at the moment but am thinking for the future (i am 31 yrs old) and my GI knows how bad i want kids soon so i'm just wondering why he would even prescribe the 6mp?

any moms or preggers out there that are on either remi or 6mp with any info for me?

My GI seemed very concered about me getting pregnant while on 6mp. I am not trying to get pregnant nor do I intend to get pregnant in the future but she asked if I was intending to before prescribing the medication. I am pretty sure I've seen people on 6mp while pregnant but it would definitely scare me if I were planning to have a baby. It seems more medically low risk while on Remicade. I could be wrong, definitely speak to your GI and a High Risk OBGYN. There are a lot of women here and on the Chron's board who have been through this and will be able to give you better answers than I can. I hope they respond.

6mp is worse. You can take remicade through pregnancy I *believe* up until 30 weeks and then you cannot have another infusion until after you deliver. I'm not sure how it effects breastfeeding.

Actually 6MP is not worse at all.
