Transdermal LDN...what is the difference with the cream vs.pill form?

My son had his first Remi infusion today. While sitting with him at the infusion center, I started reading this forum about the LDN. I would like to get more information about this and if this can taken in combination with Remicade. If someone can forward me the thread of chats on this, I would greatly appreciate it.

WARNING...you can't take LDN with immunosupporesant drugs. I just checked this out with Dr. Skip. They cancle each other out.

The cream get absorbed differently.
Since most of us have absorbtion issues the cream works best. Skip's Pharmacy also add emu oil to the cream whihc is an anti-inflammatory agent so it gives the LDN a kick. http://www.skipspharmacy.com/wplog/

I called Skip's today to get the straight answer about taking LDN and Humira or immunosuppressants. And guess what?
she told me I could be on both.
The fundamental effects in general should cancel each other out but there are no studies behind whether you can't take them both at the same time and not benefit from them at all.

She said, it's possible that they can work synergistically in terms of having anti-inflammatory effects b/c they both bring the inflammation down at the same time but in different ways. If both can work together to bring down inflammation in my intestines, that's even better. But who knows the real science behind this? No one really knows I guess?

In addition to this, according to her, she has seen cases where the capsule forms would work BETTER than the transdermal cream in Crohn's/UC patients. As long as the capsules aren't bothering you, it's better to experiment with both to see which one works the best for you.
Lastly, she recommended going on LDN for a year for it's full effect.

Many have had good success with LDN. Call Skip's Pharmacy in Boca Raton, and speak to them; they have lots of experience with patients trying LDN.

The oral LDN meds have fillers, like most meds, and you just have to be aware of that, because some people can't tolerate them and it makes them sicker (more diarrhea, cramping, stomach pains, headaches), and then there's the issue that so many UC and Crohn's patients have absorption issues. That's the reason I always recommend to try Transdermal LDN, it bypasses the gut and gets absorbed into the bloodstream pretty quickly.  I wasted 5 weeks on the wrong type of LDN, and wouldn't want someone else who wants to try LDN to waste that kind of time, especially when you're suffering that much.
