Welchol. Any thoughts or experience with?

I'm getting ready to try Welchol at bedtime. Hoping it slows things down for me in the morning since it's my worst time. Don't know much about it or side effects. Any input would be helpful.

I didn't know what Welchol was so I googled it. Ended up reading reviews on webmd from people who used it for other purposes than cholesterol. It is very interesting, there are a few reviews on there from people with Crohn's, one person said it really helped them. Several other reviews on there from people with D from gall bladder surgery and those were mostly positive reviews as well.

I was on Welchol for over a year and it worked well for me without any side effects! That says alot since I usually have a reaction to almost everything I try! It definatley helped slow thing up and since it doesnt enter the blood stream, there is minimal, if any side effects. Good luck with it!

Hello,

I used to take the generic tablet version of Cholestyramine which is basically same as Welchol then switched over to Questran. It works well without any side effects but adjust the dosage well because you can get constipation lol.
You should try several bile acid sequestrants to see which one works the best for you. It helps a lot since a lot of people with IBD have problem with reabsorbing bile due to inflammation present in the intestinal track.

I'm going to start it tonight. It says take two at bedtime. I don't think you can take other meds at same time because it binds to them. I hope it helps. My only issues are the mornings and a little urgency.
