I work for an ID doc and we are considering making up a "kit" with all the necessary stuff in it for people to do fecal transplants at home including the order for testing of the donor stool.  This would require the patient to find a physician in their area that is willing to sign the order, the rest is self-administration.  Is this something that people would be interested in?

I think people would be interested. You should use the search box on the top right and search for fecal transplant, many people ask about how to do it, what is needed... a kit would make it much easier.

Would make it less complicated. The most difficult thing for me was mixing the stool with the saline, getting it into an enema bottle, then using it without it stopping up. Standing on my head was also not fun. Maybe include an inversion table, lol.

You mentioned the Stool testing.
What about the blood tests that the CDD in Australia perform
to test for HIV, H pylori and a bunch of other stuff

Yes, I think a kit is a very good idea. Then we at HW can start finding local doctors who are willing to participate and get a nationwide US and worldwide network to refer people to. Power to the people! lol

Absolutely a good idea. I've been reading a lot about the procedure and it sounds very promising, but it sounds like it would be tricky to do it correctly at home.

The kit would include the exact order sheet with the exact pathogens that the stool needs tested for. The patient would have to find a local doc to sign it and essentially read the results and ok the donor (anyone could sign it, not just ID{Infectious Disease}). It would also include all the necessary items to make the transplant easy for home administration, including how to strain it etc. We are not looking to make a lot of money doing this - we just are trying to help people out. Once I get it all put together and legally reviewed, I'll let you all know where you can buy it. Thanks for the great feedback!
