I've lived in India for some time, and from there I learned my diet for the rest of my life: Indian vegetarian food without the spices. During the years we have added some Mediterranean food as well as Italian meals into the diet, but the basic diet for my family has for the last 30 years been Indian.
Dal with rice is an excellent, nutritious meal with chapati, for example.
Cut the meat and get vegetarian sans spices and there you go.
If you have a problem finding or making Indian meals in the UAE, try cooked vegetables with rice. You can even add some chicken and fish if you so desire. Spices are not good. Coconut water is pure energy. That is what I drank in India when flaring.
So, my diet came from Madras.
